Family Friendly Nashville: Hiking to Machine Falls

Family Friendly Nashville: Hiking to Machine Falls

It happened, our first Tennessee hike! YAY! I’ve been dying to go since moving from the Pacific Northwest, and if y’all have been following along my LtL adventures for a while y’all know I found a sweet love affair with hiking out there. You can see some of my favorites here and here. Soon after we moved here I started in on my research of places to go and see. Machine Falls came up in my new criteria of travel and hiking – less than 2 hour drive and less than 4 miles round trip. (Those 2+ hour drives and 4-6 miles hikes are long behind us, for now. 😉 Momma’s not toting that 40 lbs of active toddlering no’mo.) Hiking Guide: Family Friendly in the Pacific Northwest

Hiking Guide: Family Friendly in the Pacific Northwest

WARNING: This post contains wordy words and deep depth…but mostly a trip down a happy memory lane.

So, I’ve tried writing this post for a few months now. I knew it’d take me a while to formulate my thoughts on the closing of this PNW chapter we’ve written for the last 4 years. Where do I even begin? What do I say? How do I articulate the millions of thoughts popping through my head on a nearly daily basis as we close this chapter to open a whole new (and unknown) one? No, seriously…how do I? A little help here… 😉 Continue reading “Hiking Guide: Family Friendly in the Pacific Northwest”

Family Friendly Hike To Heybrook Lookout

Family Friendly Hike To Heybrook Lookout

So the countdown continues on LtL’s #8in8 bucket list as we near the end of our time here in the PNW. In my last post I started our official countdown, which you can read more about here! There is honestly so much I would love to do before I leave in few weeks,  but sadly there isn’t enough time or the season just isn’t right. Nonetheless, y’all know I’m gonna try my best to  go out with a BANG, in true LC style. 😉💥 Continue reading “Family Friendly Hike To Heybrook Lookout”

Travel Guide Along The Columbia River Gorge: Waterfall Edition

Travel Guide Along The Columbia River Gorge: Waterfall Edition

So I did the math, y’all…and, as of last week I’m officially leaving the PNW in 8 weeks. EIGHT WEEKS! *gasp* I can’t believe it. I can’t believe a lot of things. I can’t believe we’ve been here for four years already. I can’t believe how much I’ve come to love things out here. I can’t believe it’s all coming to an end… Ya see, I left a piece of my heart back in the South, where my roots are, my family members are, and my lifelong friends are. But, I’ve realized as it’s quickly all coming to an end here…I’ll be leaving a piece of my heart here too. 💔😢*holds back tears* Seriously…but more on that later. Family Hiking: Mount Rainier On The Naches Loop Trail

Family Hiking: Mount Rainier On The Naches Loop Trail

Oops, I.did.it.again! It’s Mt. Rainier, y’all…and a little shameless Brit song for today’s throw back Thursday for my LtL readers! #cheesefactorhigh #teamBritforlife ✊🏼🤘🏼 Recently the boys and I went to the east side of Mt Rainier. We’ve only been one other time, and let me tell y’all…the east is the BEAST (shout out to my East coast fam). Remember our hike to Sunrise Point earlier this year? It’s a bit more of a drive, but this hike proved it is well worth the extra driving efforts to make it to the other side. Like, so worth it, y’all.👌🏼 Continue reading “Family Hiking: Mount Rainier On The Naches Loop Trail”
