Hey friends! Since moving into our first home last year I’ve wanted to share some interior progress photos, but just haven’t gotten around to it. I know first hand how daunting moving into a new home can be – the shopping, the styling, the measuring and ordering, OY! Today on Lemons to Love I’m breaking down some of my favorite places to shop for home interior so you don’t have to…or at least will cut down some of the leg work for you. Come along with me on a mini home tour as I share a few areas around our home like the Master Bedroom, Kitchen, and my personal favorite the ‘Cocktail Room’ for our home tour highlights.
Interior decor is one of my favorite creative outlets – I love spending my spare time reading through magazines, scouring Pinterest or design feeds on Instagram. There has been so much home interior inspiration for curating our home to help me pull together current trends and classic favorites. I really enjoyed the insight and help from local interior designers at Modern Remains to help me organize my thoughts and curate our home. Like many others, I really wanted our first home to be a reflection of who we are and where we are as a family. I envisioned each room to have purpose and personal style while still being family friendly and functional for all parties and ages. Come along with me as I share my big ideas and small highlights in today’s home tour highlights.
Home Tour Highlights: The Cocktail Room
Deemed as one of my favorite rooms in our home, The Cocktail Room was a vision I had for entertaining and lounging. I had this moody, ‘Mad Men’ vision with dark walls and dark velvet curtains softened with earth tones and textures. The room was already painted French Grey by Sherwin Williams so I continued the color all the way to the ceiling for a monochromatic style. More sources and links below:
Entry Highlights
Another one of my favorite nooks in the house tour highlights is the entry to our home. This buffet is an antique from a long time family friend I painted and added new hardware to a few years ago. It’s the perfect addition to this space. I love the pillar lamps and the lighting they cast on the walls, (sourced locally through Modern Remains ) they really ground out the table and space well. I also LOVE the beaded flush mount we changed out (also sourced locally through Modern Remains).
Kitchen Highight
The kitchen was one of the first things I fell in love with when we first walked into this home. With an open concept and view overlooking the Living Room and porch I love that it is our most gathered space for our family and entertaining. I plan to dedicate a more in-depth blog post on this space, but for now here is a little sneak peek in the home tour highlights.
Master Bedroom
For our bedroom I really wanted an airy boho oasis that brought both comfort for my body and peace for my soul. I really love so many of the pieces in our room. I didn’t have as specific of a vision as I did the Cocktail Room, so I really love how our master bedroom ended up came together. I’ll go into more detail about each piece and accessories in another home tour, but here is a fun sneak peek until then!
More home tour highlights
A few more spaces that deserve an honorable mention during the home tour highlights (and will touch on more in the next home tour post) are Brooks’ room, the guest room and our home office. I don’t spend enough time upstairs, but I should! The playroom and B’s room are both stylish and kid friendly. It’s an area that can be his own domain of mess and I don’t have to worry about it. I really wanted his room to be a ‘big boy’ room he could grow into. I can’t wait to share more fun details around his room that reflect the fun little boy stage of life he’s in!
Guest Room
Home Office
Our guest room still needs a few finishing pieces. I’d like to hang some framed art prints series on the wall, and I need to declutter a few (hidden) spaces around the room. Our home office (*update* now nursery!) could use a few final touches and tweaks here and there but I otherwise really enjoy the space. I love the color of the walls and the light fixture we changed out! It has great light, feels quiet, creative and organized…a combination of things I personally need to even begin to feel like a hopeful productive. 🙂 I think one of my favorite areas of the room is the gallery wall I put together. It’s a collection of fashion photography magazine clippings I’ve been collection over the years. I always had a vision of being able to use them in a way to feel creative and inspiring while I’m editing for LtL Photography.
I can’t wait to share more fun spaces with details around our home with you. Thanks for coming along with me for a sneak peek into our new home tour highlights. Feel free to drop me a line or any questions you might have below! Have a wonderful week, friends.
