I have to admit, I’m not one of those moms that’s great at the ‘Hallmark’ goodies of holidays. I don’t typically make a big to-do with treats and baskets filled with themes. I see other moms all cute with their little one’s surprises and I strive to be better at the little things like that. It’s mostly due to do my poor planning and organization #ADD but hey, I’m a work in progress.???? ha! I’m thankful to have sweet memories where my mom was great (still is) at the littles things to give me a guide to making B’s childhood as full as possible. This year I’m ready and have B’s basket all prepped for it’s Easter debut. To go with the traditional Easter candies (not peeps, anything but peeps), I got him a few inexpensive activities from Target’s Bullseye’s Playground section, a pair of walkie talkies because I noticed he’s been talking to his arm a lot and making ‘over and outs’ to his daddy from upstairs. I also plan to fill his basket with this DIY PLAYDOUGHrecipe I’ve used for his pre-school! It’s easy, quick and safe incase your little gets curious and likes to eat things. ???? We also had some fun dying eggs this year and during my photo taking, so cute little chubby toddler hands peeked their way in and I had to include them…because those little knuckle dimples are worth sharing.
HOMEMADE PLAYDOUGH
1 cup flour
1 cup water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/3 cup salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
food coloring
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix together all ingredients, except the food coloring, in a sauce pan. Cook over low/medium heat, stirring constantly. Once it begins to thicken add the food coloring. Continue stirring until the mixture is much thicker and begins to gather around the spoon. Remove raw dough onto wax paper or a plate to cool. Once cooled knead the dough to remove any lumps. Store in a sealed container or baggie.
Thanks so much for reading! What type of Easter traditions can you remember from your childhood or do now as an adult? Growing up we would always have Easter lunch with the whole family. Now that I have my own family it’s fun to think of new ways to start our own family traditions. Have a wonderful weekend???? Lemons to Love, Lindsay ]]>
