Finding a place to shoot around Nashville is about as difficult as finding a place to listen to live music off Broadway! Hint: it’s not tough 😉 But finding the right space to fit the client’s look or brand can make all the difference in the details and aesthetics of the shoot. Sometimes you have to step into the role of Creative Director to make a look and setting come to life. Whether shooting for a fashion or lifestyle blogger, family or a small business, the setting around you is everything. I love the story telling aspect of photography and love even more seeing a story come to life through the client and their surroundings. Today on the blog I’m sharing a few of my recent photo shoots and what I learned in the process.
March and April were exciting months – I was able to meet some wonderful women, connect with new faces and explore Nashville in unexpected ways creatively through photography. I’ve had a number of photo shoots around the city that have inspired me and taken me to new places I otherwise probably wouldn’t have visited.
A few of the places I’ve had the opportunity to shoot in are Biscuit Love HERE, Gaylord Opryland Resort Hotel HERE, and the beautifully refurbished Noelle Hotel. A few more recent places were downtown Nashville on Broadway for a fashion/portrait shoot and a girlfriend photo shoot – more to come in a post coming soon!
This is a shoot I did with a blogger friend of mine, CaNesha! These warm tones from Noelle’s dreamy lobby really came together well for some casually professional content for her and her blog!
This shoot is a sweet group of friends of mine just living their best life off Broadway in downtown Nashville!
And this gorgeous young lady is Taylor…our neighbor, babysitter and aspiring model! We had a fun portrait session last week in Nolesville that I can’t wait to share with y’all soon!
With all these fun places to shoot I’ve definitely learned to always keep an open mind and go with the flow, for each location and each client have their own special qualities that need to shine. I’ve got an exciting shoot coming up with a local blogger and our inspiration is a scene from Sex and the City!
And as a quick tip from me to you, always call (or find the appropriate party once arrived) to ask if you are able to shoot inside another business! You can find more photography tips HERE.
Thanks so much for following along this journey with me! If you have any questions or tips of your own, please feel free to shoot me an email or drop me a line below!
