what you should be doing? I had that exact moment when I did a photo walk with Juliet of Darling Juliet Photography back in the fall. I’d never done a photo walk before or met Juliet, but I’d been following her on Instagram for a while and LOVEDDD her work. So off I went on a random Sunday evening to shoot an editorial fashion shoot and fell deeper in love with photography. Just like with anything in life, the more you do it the better you become. And just like with anything of quality and worth, it takes time to achieve the goals you set out for. Being around other Nashville photographers, artists and creatives during Darling Juliet’s photo walk opened up a part of me I that can never be shut again. I’ve always loved photography and over the last few years being a photographer here in the Nashville area, I’ve realized I really love the flexibility and ‘everyday life’ feel of lifestyle photography. And then there’s editorial photography. For me, editorial photography is a bit edgier, more mysterious, more interpretive story telling side of photography. It’s a bit sexier, moodier, and not as ‘traditionally pretty’ as lifestyle. I like that. I like that photography can transform something, can tell a story, can take the viewer on a journey with no words. Editorial photography challenges my mind creatively in a different way, and I like it. A lot.

Nashville Photography: it takes a village
I’m so thankful to Juliet for putting this photo walk on, Jessica, the stylist and Alexa, hair and makeup artist who brought the looks together with their BOMB talents (I’m in awe), and Rain, Carissa, and Kendel, the models who completely rocked the photo walk like the talented professionals they are. It truly takes a village and I’m so so thankful Nashville provides an open-minded group of people to share their talents for the good of a creative community.
Do you have any favorites from the day? I had a hard enough time just picking my favorites for this post, so don’t think you’ll get a favorite from me. ???? I probably shot over 400 photos during the photo walk and I loved 90% of them. It was that good of a day shooting photography in Nashville, and I look forward to the opportunity to do it again!
In other exciting news, I’ve been working with Andrea over at the Nashville Geek for the last few months on a complete overhaul of Lemons to Love that I’m SO EXCITED ABOUT! I’m working on a new logo, branding and website to where all extensions of Lemons to Love (LtL Photography, Lemons to Love blog and Lemons to Love Print Shop) will all officially be under one branding roof. What many of you don’t know is that all three sites have been created, curated and run by me. And while I’m proud of the work I tirelessly taught myself to put together, I am ready to hand it over to the professionals for this next season I envision for LtL as I continue to grow this little business I love so dearly.
Thanks so much for reading! For similar posts of LtL Photography, Nashville photography, and great places to shoot photography around Nashville click here, here and here.
